The FUT procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia to ensure patients experience minimal pain during treatment. It is normal to experience post-operative tightness or mild discomfort compared to other methods due to the linear incision made in the donor area. The FUT procedure starts with the surgeon injecting local anaesthetic to the scalp to ensure your comfort throughout. A small strip of skin is removed from the donor site (usually back and sides of your scalp which is resistant to further hair loss).
